A top labeler automatically applying labels to the top of products

What is a top labeler.

A top labeler is a label applicator that automatically applies sticker labels to the top of products passing along a conveyor. Place folding cartons, pouches, or trays on it, and it applies labels in the set position, reducing the work of applying them one by one by hand.

It can apply labels to products with various surfaces and thicknesses, even on thin plastic film and zipper bags, and adding an inkjet·thermal transfer marking machine as an option handles label application and expiration date printing on one line.

Where it is used

  • Food: plastic film packaging, zipper bags, frozen food trays, salted-seafood tub lids, bread bags
  • Agricultural products: fruit packages, egg trays (2·6·10·15·20 eggs)
  • Cosmetics: folding cartons, sheet-mask boxes, gift set seals
  • Household·small-batch production: small-lot boxes, pouches, spray caps

Frequently asked questions.

What products can a top labeler be used on?

It is used on the tops of flat products such as folding cartons, plastic film packaging, zipper bags, and trays. It can also apply labels on plastic film, zipper bags, and even pizzas. We choose the model after a sample test with your actual product.

How do I choose between the LT-1000, LT-2000, and LT-4000?

For high-mix, low-volume production in a small space, we recommend the semi-automatic LT-1000, where products are placed by hand; for the most widely used general-purpose automatic model, the LT-2000; and for high-speed labeling on high-volume lines, the LT-4000. The LT-4000 offers top·side options and can mount large label rolls.

How many labels per minute?

The LT-1000 handles 20~50 per minute, the LT-2000 30~60 per minute, and the LT-4000 20~200 per minute. Actual speed varies with label and product size.

Can it also apply tamper-evident seal labels to boxes?

Yes. With the semi-automatic seal labeler LC-105S, you push a box in and a seal label is applied; it is used for cookie boxes, cosmetic folding cartons, and gift sets. The LT-1000 also applies seal (corner) labels that wrap around the edge when a box is placed on it.

Can labels be applied to egg trays as well?

The LE-3000, a labeler dedicated to egg packaging, automatically applies labels on top of 2-, 6-, 10-, 15-, and 20-egg trays.

Can it be connected to an existing line?

The LT-2000 can be integrated into a line. Adding an inkjet marking machine (cartridge type) or a thermal transfer marking machine (ribbon type) as an option handles label application and date printing together.

Can it apply clear labels?

Yes. A special ultrasonic sensor dedicated to transparent labels can be added as an option. PEC also produces roll label stickers to fit your machine.

What about warranty and after-sales service?

The LT-2000, LT-4000, and LE-3000 come with 1 year of free repair and a 5-year repair warranty; the LT-1000 comes with 6 months of free repair and a 5-year repair warranty; the LC-105S comes with 1 year of free repair.
